Building Networks to Spark Change
Jennifer had an idea in March of 2019.
Studies have shown that women need two networks: one a diverse network of both men and women, and another separate female network. Jennifer is a firm believer in building, growing and fostering a female network, so since March is Women’s History Month, she made it a goal to connect four women each day in the hopes creating lasting connections and collaborations.
Other women were inspired and joined in. The initiative became known as Connect4Women. Jennifer personally connected 500+ women in 2019, which led to countless partnerships, business deals, new jobs, and friendships.
Join Jennifer in the initiative to build powerful networks of women. Participating is easier than you think: All it takes is 2 emails, each connecting 2 women, every weekday. Learn more at the Connect4Women website.
This past March, even during the pandemic, the Connect4Women community of 60 women made more than 550 connections. In order to help us all feel more connected during this stressful time, we’re extending Connect4Women through the end of April (with a goal of 4 introductions per week).
Jennifer also realized that in 2020, young women needed the power of connection more than ever: The pandemic hit Gen Z incredibly hard, as many of them have struggled to find jobs and get the right training. So last fall, she launched a new Young Connectors initiative to help younger women who are just starting their career journey. Mentors are asked to connect with four Gen Z participants in the month of September in any format they choose (Zoom, a phone call, a socially distant meeting, etc.). Whether you’re a potential mentor or a Gen Z participant, sign up for Young Connectors here. UPDATE: More than 50 mentors across different industries have been matched with 40 mentees — in the hopes that the 160 conversations assigned will lead to mentor-mentee relationships, coaching, jobs and connections. With the class of 2020 facing unprecedented challenges, the time to help these young women is now.
Now, in 2021, Connect4Women is launching the SheCovery Network to help women get back to work after so many have lost their jobs or left the workforce due to the pandemic. If you are interested in joining this group (or would like to nominate someone), please fill out this Google Form. You will be matched with several woman with similar career backgrounds and interests that we feel will be most valuable to you.
Imagine the conversations, ideas and connections you’ll help spark. Join Connect4Women, check out the Connect4Women website, and feel free to email Jennifer with questions.
